Nuu-chah-nulth Fisheries Decision

A link to the recent BC Supreme Court decision Ahousaht Indian Band and Nation v. Canada (Attorney General), 2009 BCSC 1494 has been posted on the British Columbia section of the Legal Decisions page.

Madam Justice Garson ruled that the plaintiffs have an Aboriginal right to fish any species of fish within their respective traditional territories and have a right to sell fish. See Section XII Disposition of the decision for a summary of Madam Justice Garson’s orders in this case.
